After a 15-year break from kayaking and racing, I decided to enter the Coast to Coast Multisport Race and quickly realised I needed expert guidance and motivation to successfully return to the sport. I reached out to Ben at Strong Paddler and began with technique sessions alongside some much-needed strength training.

Ben designed a kayak-specific strength programme with clear progressions that I could complete at home using limited equipment. Within a short time, I noticed significant improvements in both my strength and mobility. The structured interval sessions on the water were also a game changer — they broke up the monotony of steady paddling and rapidly improved my speed and endurance.

I was extremely pleased with my kayak leg in this year’s Coast to Coast and was genuinely surprised by how strong I felt in the second half of the race. That performance is a direct reflection of Ben’s coaching and advice. His knowledge of all things kayaking is second to none, and his technique videos are outstanding — clearly explaining proper form and how it directly translates to performance on the water.
