The Strong Paddler Training Program Library has been updated with structured paddling training programs for surf ski and kayak athletes.
These programs are designed to give paddlers clear direction in their training, reduce guesswork, and support consistent performance across the season.
Training Programs Available to Members
Surf Life Saving Surf Ski Training Program
A surf ski training program designed for Surf Life Saving athletes. Particularly relevant for paddlers in the Southern Hemisphere building toward major summer races. This program works well as a progression from winter base training into higher-intensity race preparation.
Distance Surf Ski or Kayak Training Program – 12 Weeks
A structured 12-week training program for surf ski or kayak paddlers targeting longer-distance races. Suitable if you want a clear weekly framework without committing to a single event-specific plan.
Coast to Coast Paddling Training Plan – 10 Weeks (2026)
A 10-week Coast to Coast training program built specifically for paddlers preparing for the event. The focus is on developing event-specific fitness, durability, and efficiency so you arrive on the start line prepared, not guessing. – Probably a bit late for 2026 but will build out plans leading into next years race including fully periodised blocks.
Structured Training for Paddlers
Like the gym programming for paddlers available on Strong Paddler, this training program library will continue to grow. Over time, it will cover:

- Event-specific paddling preparation
