Paddlers Preparation Program
This is a 3-stage joint mobilization and strength-based program designed to prepare your body for paddling. The program includes a variety of mobilization and strength movements drawn from gymnastics and Pilates-based training, as well as traditional strength exercises. The Paddling Prep Program focuses on bodyweight exercises with minimal equipment.
We progress through mobilization and strengthening movements for the wrists, elbows, and shoulders, while also developing core strength and balance to ensure effective transfer of power to the water. The exercises in this program become progressively more advanced from level 1 to level 3. It is recommended to spend at least two weeks on each stage, completing the sessions x 2 per week.
This program is ideal for beginners or anyone looking to ensure they are adequately prepared for paddling as they enter a new training cycle. It is also best done before starting the Paddle Performance Strength Program.
All movements are intended for injury-free athletes. If you have any concerns about proper technique or experience pain during any movement, please consult an exercise professional in person.
